Hyderabad: The AICC prepared a list of 150 probables for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, of which 15 are from AP.
The list was sent by PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana after the party’s central leadership discussed the matter with him recently.
While preparing the list, the PCC took care to factor in the possible scenarios after the bifurcation of the state, and the political situation that would prevail later.
“The names of those who we feel will stand by the party, irrespective of the political events that will happen in the coming months, and will contest only on a Congress ticket were sent to party headquarters,” said a source at Gandhi Bhavan.
The list, according to sources, excludes the six Congress MPs who announced their resignation.
in the recent Winter Session of Parliament, and who have been talking ill of the party following the bifurcation decision.
According to the AICC, at least 15 names have to be cleared in the first instance from the state, which has contributed the largest contingent of the party's Lok Sabha members in 2004 and 2009.
