Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s promising tennis player Yadlapalli Pranjala won the maiden ITF Juniors title of her blossoming career when she defeated Thailand’s Bunyawi Thamchaiwat 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the final of the ITF Juniors Grade 3 tournament in Chandigarh on Saturday.
Pranjala, who had been in supreme touch throughout, stuttered badly at the beginning of the match, allowing her opponent to run away with the first set 6-3.
However, Pranjala soon gathered her wits to win the second set 6-2 and then, take the decider 6-3 to win the title. With this win, Pranjala also breaks into the Top 100 of the world rankings
