It’s about building a legacy: Ashley Westwood

Bangalore: Leading his side to the top of the table in their debut season, Bengaluru Football Club’s English manager Ashley Westwood has garnered much praise for his work in India.

And his performance has not gone unnoticed across the seas in his homeland, with rumours surfacing linking the former Blackburn Rovers assistant manager to English club Bury F.C.

But by the looks of it, Westwood intends to leave behind a legacy. “I’ve seen the interest and am aware of certain things. But as far as I’m concerned, I’ve come here to do a job,” said Westwood.

“I’m here for the long haul. Its not about this season, it’s about building a foundation and hopefully a legacy,” finished the Englishman.

While BFC has struck gold with his signature, it seems Westwood too does not do anything half hearted.

“This is where I will be until I feel I have done enough. I have not done nearly enough at the minute,” declared the coach.
