Staff get bonus and incentive

Rs 11 crore package for transport and milk cooperative staff.

Chennai: Chief minister J. Jayal­a­li­thaa continues to shower bonus and incentives on government and PSU staff.

On Saturday along with Pongal benefits she allocated a Rs 11 crore package as in­­c­entive for transport and milk co-operative society wo­rkers.

The incentives will benefit 1.95 lakh workers in the state, a release from the st­ate secretariat said. In a statement here, she said employees working in va­rio­us departments, like tr­ansport, civil supplies corporation and milk and coo­perative units, would get the incentive and the move would improve their mo­rale and workmanship.

The government will give incentives to the tune of Rs 11.49 crore to 1.95 lakh em­ployees and the state wi­ll continue to implement la­bour welfare initiatives, she said.

According to the release, employees of the state tr­ansport corporation, tr­a­nsport development fund corporation and Pal­lavan transport advisory commi­ttee will be given an achi­evement incentive, ranging from Rs 85 to Rs 625.

Similarly, employees of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corp­oration will get Rs 350 each, while those working in mi­lk societies would get inc­entives ranging from Rs 145 to Rs 1,000.

The incentive announcement will cover 17 district milk co-operative society workers benefiting about 25,­000 employees with Rs 2.64 crore having been ea­rm­a­rked, the release said. PSU employees of Group A and B, who mostly do not get incentives, will also be­n­efit under the CM’s anno­u­nc­ement, the release added.
