Byreddy's call to Seema MLAs
Anantapur: Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samiti founder president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy on Saturday called upon elected representatives from the region to raise their voice for protecting the interests of Rayalaseema during the debate on the draft Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill-2013 in the Assembly.
Talking to the media at the party office in the district, Byreddy said all leaders including Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy know very well that division of the state has happened but were playing dramas in the Assembly and hoodwinking the people.
In the name of division, he said that leaders are curtailing the future of Rayalaseema. He asked MLAs from the region to raise their voice at least now and protect the interests of Seema people.
“It is the responsibility of 52 MLAs from the region to protect the rights of Rayalaseema people,” he said.
If the MLAs fail to raise their voice before January 23, he said that Parliament would pass the bill threatening the interests of the region. He asked the MLAs to mount pressure on the Centre for rightful share of water, employment and sharing of revenue for the region.
Stating the Justice Brijesh Tribunal had did injustice to Rayalaseema in Krishna water sharing, he said that if division happens Rayaseema would become a desert.
He asked the government to set up educational institutions and medical facilities of international standards in Rayalaseema.
He also appealed to the government to develop Anantapur as a solar city utilising natural resources and to provide loans to bankrupt weaver families.
Byreddy said that if the MLAs are strong the Centre would bow down and agree for Rayalaseema region demands.
