Three Aadhaar cards for seven-year-old boy in Kerala
7-year-old boy's father says extra cards might have been sent by mistake.
Kottayam: At a time when one-third of Keralites are yet to get Aadhaar, Abhishek Amrith, 7, second standard student of St Antony's LP school, Parippu, got three Aadhaar cards.
Abhishek's father, Amrith V. Chandy of Chengalam near here, said that the child registered for Aadhaar twice. The first time was when he was a UKG student of St Mary's central school, Puthanangady.
“That time he didn't mention it to us. The second was when we registered for all the family members.” The three cards were of two numbers and in the case of one, the number was verified and found true. The other cards might have been sent by mistake, he said. This is despite the Aadhaar authorities’ claim of taking steps to prevent duplication.
