Rs 25 crore expansion project for Sacred Heart College
Kochi: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the platinum jubilee celebrations of Sacred Heart College at Thevara by launching a set of new projects by the college. Inaugurating the function, Chandy said agitations and concerns for giving autonomous status for colleges will have no relevance.
The CM officially launched the college’s Rs 25-crore expansion project. The project, expected to be completed in five years, will have an administrative block, hostel of international standards, indoor stadium, swimming pool complex, a block for self financing programmes and other facilities.-
The inauguration of platinum jubilee celebrations was held in between the annual college fest named Hearty Fest. The fest was officially inaugurated by Fr. Paulose Kidengen, the manager of the college.
There were fireworks show, musical symphony, chain dance, mime, Kathak, contemporary dance, skit, drama and a rock show. It also had performances by the college choir. A lucky dip competition was also conducted among the students and spectators. The college also conducted the annual general meeting of Alumni Association of Sacred Heart College (AASH) on Saturday.
