Hyderabad: The four people who allegedly raped the Mumbai model in the city on New Year eve, had hatched an elaborate plan. They concealed their identities and gave fake names and details to the victim.
One of the accused, Ajay Sharma, 35, introduced himself as Ali, and said he was a party organiser.
The agent, Happy Dsouza, alias Nitin Yadav, who contacted the victim in Mumbai, also raped her concealing his identity. Though Happy was in touch with the victim in Mumbai since some months, she had never met him in person.
The victim said that Happy had called her for many events in the past but she could not meet him. Police suspects that Happy, who is a Mumbai-based agent for models, and his friends must have hatched the plan to rape the woman after calling her to Hyderabad.
“Happy was present at the airport to receive her on December 31. However, she could not identify him as she had never met him. He introduced himself with another name,” said police commissioner Sharma.
Initially, the victim had some suspicions as she had got a sudden call from Happy for a party in Hyderabad.
However, Happy convinced her saying that three other women, who are dancing at the party, are already in the city, and one more woman was needed for the event.
“She was convinced when Ajay Sharma called her introducing himself as Ali, the party organiser, and took her details for the flight ticket. She got the ticket the next day through Whatsapp,” a source close to the victim said.
The victim was picked up by the accused in a car. They drove around the city for a few hours, and then changed the car.
After reaching the house at Nizampet, one of the culprits asked her to freshen up. When she went to take a bath Ajay spiked her drink, police said.
“She did not suspect the drink was spiked as two others were also drinking it inside the room,” said an official.
After raping the victim, the culprits made the woman board a bus to Mumbai on January 1 night.
“As she was drowsy, the culprits told others that she was ill,” the commissioner said.
The victim regained consciousness only after reaching Mumbai. After the incident, the four accused split, and went their ways. Happy went to Mumbai.
