Kochi: Kerala Women defeated Delhi, 58-33 to secure third place in the 28th Federation Cup National Basketball Championship at Ahmedabad on Thursday. P.R. Surya and Merlin Baby shone for Kerala in the match with 14 points each.
Kerala has earlier in the semi-final lost to Chhattisgarh, 57-80. In the men’s category Services beat Punjab 72-48 to secure bronze.
FIFTH JCI BASKETBALL TOURNEY KICKS OFF

V.K. Krishnamenon College Kannur scraped past Providence College Kozhikode, 45-43, in the opening match of the women’s category in the 5th JCI all-India basketball tournament at Athirampuzha on Thursday.
In the men’s category match, Mar Ivanious College defeated SFS Bangalore with a 76-70 victory. Nicewin top-scored for the winners with 25 points.
