AAP to decide on Lok Sabha seats by January end
Thiruvananthapuram: The Aam Aadmi Party will take a decision on the seats to be contested in the Lok Sabha polls by January-end.
According AAP state coordinator Manoj Padmanabhan, the party would finalise the list after detailed discussions and assessing the strength of the organisation and the quality of candidates.
As of now, the state unit has received six nominations. “But many prospective candidates have sent the nominations directly,’’ Manoj said.
The party’s nomination form is available on its website www.aamaadmiparty.org. The form is exhaustive and the applicants must provide all information. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
The nomination form seeks details of family, criminal cases pending if any, political affiliations, including that of family members, source of income, details of property, reason for contesting, prospects of winning and knowledge about decentralisation of power.
Besides, each prospective candidate will have to provide an affidavit along with a list of 100 proposing voters from each Assembly constituency of the respective Lok Sabha seat.
All nominations forms will be scrutinised by an expert committee at different levels before being given clearance. The same system was followed in the Delhi Assembly election and it proved quite successful.
