TRS MLA Harish Rao booked for obstructing police from work
Hyderabad: TRS legislator T. Harish Rao was today booked for allegedly obstructing the police from performing their duties when his partymen tried to hold a protest during Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy's public function here, police said.
A case was registered under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) against Rao. He obstructed the police from performing their duties at GAME Park foundation stone-laying ceremony by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy here on January 8, Raidurgam Inspector A Bala Koti said.
A group of TRS activists led by party MLAs Harish Rao and others were taken into preventive custody on January 8 for trying to stage a protest during the event.
The TRS leaders alleged that the land proposed for the construction of park is a heritage site and was yet to be notified by the central government.
