'Heartless': A film shot in just 22 days

Protracted shoots are more the norm than the exception in Bollywood.

Protracted shoots are more the norm than the exception in Bollywood. So you can imagine our surprise when we learnt that the entire shoot of Adhyayan Suman’s “comeback” film 'Heartless' — a major chunk of which is set in Dubai — was wrapped up in a mere 22 days.

What makes this remarkable is that the average film requires about 50-55 days for the principle shooting alone. The schedule for a biggie like 'Ram-Leela' might extend over 100 days while a 'Dabangg' and an 'Action Jackson' would have 30 days set aside for shooting just the action sequences.

“It was more due to necessity than desire,” a source shared. “There were budgetary constraints and the team was under pressure to shoot quickly. Since the Sumans didn’t want to compromise on the quality, they made sure that all the necessary groundwork was complete before the cameras started rolling.”
Adhyayan, when contacted, said, “It is outstanding that my father has been able to shoot the film so fast. When you see the film, you’ll acknowledge what we have managed to achieve.”
