Hyderabad: With the OGH doctors confirming Uday Kiran’s cause of death as suicide, West Zone police on Tuesday night questioned the actor’s closest relatives, including his wife, and also talked to his friends. Top police officials said that apart from looking into the known reasons like career issues and financial troubles, the investigation officials would also probe the immediate reason for the suicide.
“Career and financial issues are already being speculated. However, we will also check for the immediate reason for Uday to end his life. We are talking to his family and friends and are also checking his cellphone and personal belongings,” said West Zone DCP Satyanarayana.

After the actor’s funeral at ESI Hindu graveyard at Erragadda on Tuesday afternoon, a team of cops went to his house at Srinagar Colony to question the family.
Meanwhile, sources said that Uday’s wife Vishitha had made several phone calls to two of her male friends named Ranjith and Sharath on Sunday. Cops have confirmed that Uday had called Sharath, his wife’s classmate, and talked to him. Police questioned Sharath regarding the call.
“When we asked Sharath, he said that he had a ‘friendly talk’ with the actor. He said that he did not sense that Uday was on the verge of committing suicide,” said an investigation official. The police also confirmed that Uday had attempted suicide earlier due to depression. The doctors also mentioned self-inflicted injuries on his body.
