Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Uday Kiran committed suicide at his flat in Srinagar Colony late on Sunday night.

The body of the 33-year-old actor was found hanging from the ceiling of his gymnasium, and the Banjara Hills police said that the scene of the incident and initial investigation suggested that it was a suicide. No suicide note was been found at the spot.

Banjara Hills ACP Ashok Kumar said that Uday Kiran must have been depressed about the state of his career, and financial crisis. The police is also looking into the actor’s family issues, including his troubled relationship with his father.

His first three films, Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu and Manasantha Nuvve, were hits, earning him the title “Hat-Trick Hero”. He acted in films like Nee Sneham and Kalusukovalani. Uday Kiran also starred in films like Sreeram, Avunanna Kaadanna, Nuvvekaddunte Nenakkadunta and Jai Sriram.

He made his debut in Tamil films in Poi, directed by veteran K. Balachander. On Uday Kiran’s wife’s complaint, the Banjara Hills police has booked a case under CrPC 174 (suspicious death) and is investigating.
