Will take up students’ cause: MLC Boddu Nageswara Rao

SFI to continue its agitations for the welfare of students of govt schools and colleges.

Vijayawada: Students Federation of India (SFI) should continue its agitations for the welfare of students studying in the government schools and colleges.

MLC, Boddu Nageswara Rao said here on Thursday after releasing the New Year’s calendar published by SFI during a programme at UTF office.

Praising the services of SFI for poor students, Nageswara Rao said that he will do all possible help to provide all basic amenities in the state schools, colleges and hostels which were providing free education to poor students.

He said that poor students studying in government schools and colleges are competing with their counterparts of corporate and private schools and lamented that the government is failing to provide basic amenities in state institutions.

Nageswara Rao said that he would raise the issues of students in the Legislative Council seeking resolution.

SFI city secretary T. Pravin said that they would soon start protests all over the district seeking betterment of amenities in government institutions, releasing of pending scholarships, cancellation of Aadhaar norm for scholarships, fee reimbursement scheme and filling all vacant posts in the government schools and colleges.

SRR and CVR Government College principal, N. Raja Rao, SFI girl’s wing president, T Rani were among those present.
