Anantapur: APNGOs association called for Seemandhra bandh on Friday in protest against introducing the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Bill-2013 in the state Assembly.
Telugu Desam cadre has extended support to the bandh.
APNGOs district unit president B. Devaraju and general secretary K. Venkata Narasaiah called for Anantapur district bandh as part of Seemandhra bandh call given by the association to mount pressure on the Centre to rollback the division process.
Telugu Desam district unit president B.K. Parthasarathi extended support to the bandh and his party cadre join with APNGOs protest without party flags and banners.
He told media that Seemandhra MLAs from the region would oppose the Telangana bill during the Assembly sessions.
Kurnool district TD unit president Somisetty Venkateswarlu called upon the party cadre to take part in the bandh.
In addition, the YSR Congress had given for separate bandh call on Friday across the Seemandhra region to protest against the division process disregarding the concerns of Seemandhra people.
