Will Amitabh Bachchan act in 'Six Suspects'?
Novelist Vikas Swarup’s wildly successful first book 'Q and A' was in part, inspired by Amitabh Bachchan’s popular game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. In fact, when Vikas’ book was published, he even had a signed copy presented to Big B.
Now, we hear that the legendary actor and Vikas will take their association a step further with a new project. Vikas’ novel 'Six Suspects' had been picked up by the BBC and Starfield Productions for a film adaptation, and if the latest rumours are to be believed, Big B himself has been approached to play a role.
However, Bachchan Senior hasn’t confirmed his involvement in the project.
“Vikas Swarup’s novel Six Suspects is being adapted for the big screen and will be helmed by noted Argentinian director Pablo Trapero. Mr Bachchan has been approached for the film,” a source connected to the project shared.
If the talks are successful, then this should be a prestigious project all around — 'Slumdog Millionaire', the film based on Vikas’ 'Q and A' won an Oscar for director Danny Boyle, the 'Six Suspects' director Pablo Trapero has previously been in the running for an award at the Cannes Film Festival while Big B is one of the greatest living icons from the Indian film industry. So will the Big B feature in his next Hollywood production after 'The Great Gatsby'? Watch this space to find out.
