Kiran Kumar Reddy: I’ve not thought of launching a party

KKR says that he has the right to change the portfolios of ministers.

Hyderabad: In his brief interaction with newspersons at his Begumpet camp residence on Wednesday, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said that as and when administrative exigencies demand it, he has the right to change the portfolios of ministers and he exercised his prerogative in Sridhar Babu’s case.

“There are no other reasons for doing that. I have been holding the commercial taxes portfolio, but due to heavy work I am unable to concentrate and commercial tax collections are also decreasing every year…so I thought Sridhar Babu can concentrate more on the subject and I have given him the portfolio,” the Chief Minister said.
Reddy said he was under no obligation to respond to the criticism on the change of the legislative affairs portfolio from Sridhar Babu to school education minister Dr S. Sailajanath.
When asked whether he would launch a political party for the United AP cause, the Chief Minister said, “My concentration and intention is to see a meaningful debate take place on the bifurcation bill till January 23. I have not thought of launching political parties. I am always loyal to the Congress. My actions opposing Telangana Bill should not be seen as rebellion.”
He said more than from the Seemandhra region, he has been receiving emails from Telangana to keep AP?united.
