Jairam Ramesh: Telangana to Parliament in February
Hyderabad: Union ministers Jairam Ramesh and S. Jaipal Reddy on Wednesday asserted that Telangana Bill introduction in February Session of Parliament appears imminent.
Talking to newsmen separately in New Delhi on Wednesday, the ministers said, once the debate on Telangana Bill in state Assembly concludes by January 23 the Centre would initiate necessary steps to ensure that the Bill is introduced and approved in Parliament in February.
“I think special session of Parliament might be held in the first week of February and along with other bills the Telangana Bill also may be passed,”?Ramesh told newsmen.
Jaipal Reddy criticised Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for his attempts to stall the Telangana state formation. He said exactly at the stroke of 12 midnight on January 23, the process of obtaining the views expressed by AP Legislature will be once for all over. “Thereafter it is beyond the state leaders’ control to stall Telangana formation,” he added.
