Hyderabad: The subsidised domestic LPG cylinder has become costlier by Rs 25 with immediate effect, with the oil marketing companies revising prices on Wednesday for the month of January.
The price in the state has been increased from Rs 416 to Rs 441.
The price of non-subsidised cylinder has been increased by Rs 215, from Rs 1112.50 to Rs 1327.50.
Consumers thus have to pay Rs 1,327.50 to obtain a cylinder. The subsidy of Rs 844 will be credited directly into the Aadhaar-linked bank account after the delivery of the cylinder.
This means the consumer has to bear Rs 483 per cylinder now, which is Rs 71 more than the pre-DBT days.
Before the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme was intr-oduced, consumers had to pay Rs 412 for a cylinder. Now this is increased to Rs 483, thanks to Vat imposed by the state on the overall price of the cylinder plus doing away with the payment of its subsidy component of Rs 25.
Last month, the OMCs hiked dealer commission rate by Rs 4 per cylinder, which was also passed on to consumers.
With this, the price of subsidised cylinder went up from Rs 412 to Rs 416 and now to Rs 441.
OMCs hike non-subsidised lpg cylinder cost again
New Delhi: In the New Year, people will feel the pinch of costly LPG?cylinders as state-run oil marketing companies have increased the price of non-subsidised cylinders.
This is the third hike in non-subsidised LPG rates in the past month. The non-subsidised LPG cylinders will now cost Rs 1,241 in Delhi up from Rs 1,021. In Kolkata, non-subsidised LPG cylinder will cost Rs 1,270, in Mumbai Rs 1,264 and in Chennai Rs 1,234.
The government had in September 2012 capped the supply of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders to six per household in a year. The quota was raised to nine in January 2013.
In October, an expert group under former Planning Commission member Kirit Parikh in a report had recommended a hike of Rs 250 on subsidised domestic LPG cylinder.
