Lack of funds leaves Palike park in disarray
There is no one to ensure that the place is kept clean: A regular park visitor.

Bangalore: A BBMP park in KHB Colony in Koramangala is desperately in need of attention, while just a few metres away, Laxmi Devi Park is immaculately maintained and could be one of the best parks in the city.
Visitors at the KHB Colony Park pointed out to many problems, ranging from broken dustbins to accumulation of garbage.
“There is a big signage that says this park is a no-plastic zone, but whenever we come here for walks, we see plastic waste lying around,” said Vivek Raj, a regular visitor to the park and a resident of the colony. The park has two entrances and both have piles of garbage and dry leaves, he added.
Rakhi Jaswant, another regular at the park, said, “There is no one to ensure that the place is kept clean. Most of the time, the security guard is not present.”
“If Laxmi Devi Park can be maintained well, why not this park? It is quite a contrast,” said Ramesh Babu, a visitor.
A toilet in the park has been closed for public use, and a concrete signboard has collapsed, but no one has paid attention.
Local corporator B.N. Kokila told Deccan Chronicle, “There are no funds to take up developmental activities in parks. I have already written a letter to the commissioner requesting him to release some funds for planting some saplings and maintaining this park. Once we get funds, we will take these works.”
