Hunt on for 3 in Dilsukhnagar twin bomb blasts case

Three suspects Riyaz Bhatkal, Waqas and Tahzeen Akhtar alias Monu are still at large.

Hyderabad: Three suspects in the Dilsukhnagar twin bomb blasts case, that claimed 17 lives, are still at large.

Director-general of police B. Prasada Rao said that the National Investigation Agency is working to nab the three absconding terror suspects.

Two other terrorists — Yasin Bhatkal and Asadullah Akthar alias Tabrez — who were also involved in the blasts, have already been arrested.

The three absconding accused in the Dilsukhnagar blasts case are Tahzeen Akhtar, alias Monu, Waqas and Riyaz Bhatkal.

The trio was involved in the conspiracy to plant bombs near Konark and Venkatadri theatres. The blasts killed 17 people on February 21, 2013.

Indian Mujahideen operative Monu, son of Vasim Akhtar, is a resident of Maniarpur in Bihar.

He carries a reward of Rs 10 lakh and is also wanted for his role in the Bodh Gaya blasts case of July and the Patna blasts of October.

Pakistani national Waqas alias Ahmed alias Javed, with his last-known address being in Mangalore, also carries a reward of Rs 10 lakh.

Aged around 23 years, Waqas can speak Urdu and Hindi with a Punjabi accent.

Riyaz Bhatkal, the key conspirator, is an Indian and is hiding in Pakistan, the police said.
