Raghuveera Reddy hopes majority MLAs oppose bifurcation

Reddy asks all MLAs to take part in the debate to express opinions in interest of their people.

Anantapur: Revenue minister N. Raghuveera Reddy said that the Seemandhra Congress MLAs would also meet MLAs from the Telangana region and appeal to oppose the AP State Reorganisation Bill-2013 in order to keep the state undivided.

Raghuveera Reddy hoped majority of MLAs would oppose the state’s division bill in the Assembly.

Raghuveera Reddy launched 7th phase of land distribution programme at many parts of the district on Tuesday.

Addressing a public meeting at Krishnakala mandir here, the revenue minister alleged that several parties were playing blame game for political mileage.

Though they were claiming as Samaikyandhra activists but supporting the state division process, he pointed out.

He opined entire episode of debate in the Assembly should be live telecasted as people in the state can see the original mindset of parties on the bifurcation issue.

Raghuveera Reddy asked all the MLAs to take part in the debate to express opinions in the interest of their own people, constituencies and districts.

Meanwhile, the revenue minister said at least 1.24 lakh acres of land has been distributed in the 7th phase of land distribution programme across the state.

Altogether, 77 lakh acres had been distributed for landless poor in the 7th phase, he said.

The revenue department had concentrated on measures to curb land disputes due to mistakes in records.

Process of computerisation of all land records was speeded up at all parts of the state to avoid menace of fake documents, he said.

The government was also planning to spend Rs 11 crore through SC/ST sub-plan for purchasing of land to distribute landless poor in the particular sections.

Primary education minister Sake Sailajanath, collector D.S. Lokesh Kumar and other officials participated in the programme.

In the whirlwind tour, Raghuveera Reddy also took part in land distribution programme at Dharmavaram, Rapthadu and Kadiri.
