Probe against DCP begins
Hyderabad: State police chief B. Prasada Rao on Tuesday said that a probe against West Zone DCP V. Satyanarayana for his alleged involvement in a civil dispute case has begun. “Commissioner of police and additional commissioners are probing. Action will be initiated according to the report,” Rao told the media.
A week ago, the High Court had ordered the principal secretary to the home department to examine the case in depth and submit a report to the court.
The matter pertains to a petition filed by G.B.C. Raj Gopal, a software engineer residing in Florida, USA, who alleged that the DCP and the inspector of SR Nagar forced him to sign documents, without disclosing its contents.
The petitioner was involved in a property dispute with his sister. When Raj Gopal wanted to know the contents, the DCP threatened to prevent him from leaving India if he did not sign.
