Road Transport Authority?found most corrupt
Hyderabad: Road Transport Authority (RTA)?officials were found to be the most corrupt during raids by the Anti- Corruption Bureau on integrated checkposts.
The ACB seized most of the unaccounted cash from transport department officials during raids across the state where they engaged middlemen to collect the bribe money.
A surprise check conducted on RTA checkpost at Shapur in Shamshabad mandal on the city outskirts yielded unaccounted cash of Rs 4,190 illegally collected by a assistant motor vehicle inspector along with two private persons. The cash and records were seized.
According to ACB, Rs 37,000 in cash was seized during raids on RTA checkpost at Penugonda in Anantapur district.
At integrated checkposts in Bheemunivaripalem in Nellore and in Naraharipeta in Chittoor district around Rs 59,610 and Rs 48,150 were seized respectively.
Around Rs 3,920 was found during a surprise check on the commercial tax checkpost at Bhoraj in Adilabad district and unaccounted cash of Rs 58,000 collected by transport department officials was seized.v Case is under investigation.
A Surprise check conducted on the Transport Check Post at Palvancha in Khammam District unaccounted cash of Rs.13,650 which was illegal collected by the Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector and Staff was seized along with the records.
At Integrated Check Post in Purushottapuram in Itchapuram Mandal in Srikakulam District an amount of Rs.1,30,750 which was illegally collected by the staff of Integrated Check Post was seized.
At RTA Tetagunta Check Post of East Godavari District Rs.1. 25 lakh cash collected by RTA staff was seized.
