To serve wit love
Know her
Bengalurean, Shruthi Raju, loves making people laugh with her witty comments. But there is more to this unassuming artiste that what meets the eye. She created a platform for upcoming talent with her friend, Chaitanya Vard and called it The Underdog Entertainment. The end of 2013 turned her into a scriptwriter and director who is hell bent on creating original content with a thought provoking message.
The Year That Was
While her work life was sailing peacefully, Shruthi confesses that in terms of finding a soulmate, it was rather dull. “I started 2013 with being single, and I am still single,” she shrugs.
The Year ahead
“The next year is going to be huge for us as we are going to take our plays to North India and we have also got offers to perform abroad, most probably in San Francisco. Apart from that, this year I WILL find love,” says Shruthi with much determination.
Her life’s emblem
Shruthi says that a cow would describe her well. “It is a life bearer and I feel in that context so are Indian women and I am an Indian woman, ain’t I?” she says with a twinkle in her eye.
The High
“Women are now being taken more seriously as comedians. Secondly, this year we took seven of our original plays to cities down south and we recently finished the 50th show as well.”
The low
“One of my favourite actors, Paul Walker’s death came as a rude shock at the end of the year.”
