BJP not Hindutva party: Vellappally Natesan
Alappuzha: SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan has come out in support of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi saying that if Modi comes to power, the country will not be ruined.
He told reporters in Kottayam on the sidelines of a function on Sunday that the BJP was no longer a Hindutva party.
“The BJP has reinvented itself shedding its hardcore saffron agenda to a great extent. In fact, the misdeeds of those in power have contributed to the popularity of Modi,” said Natesan.
“The people feel that the Congress rule is a failure. In Kerala, the government functions against the Congress party’s stance. The government has a hidden agenda to break the unity among Hindu communities. The mood of the people is against the UPA and the Congress will face severe reverses in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election,” he said.
This is for the second time Natesan has applauded Modi after he was made the prime ministerial candidate.
Earlier, when Modi attended the Mata Amritananda Mayi’s 60th birth anniversary in September, Natesan had said that Kerala should end its attitude of ‘untouchability’ to Modi. “Why Kerala should have imposed untouchability on Modi that was never shown to Advani,” he had asked.
