Sridhar Babu seeks Telengan unity
Karimnagar: The Civil Supplies Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, sought unity among Telangana legislators, during the debate over the Telangana Draft Bill in the Assembly, in January. He was speaking at the Congress party’s formation day celebrations, held here on Saturday.
In order to realise 60-year-long aspiration of the public, legislators of the Telangana region should participate in the debate by being united over the Telangana Draft Bill and enabling the House to send it to the Union government, within the given timeframe, he remarked.
After hoisting the party’s flag, the District Congress Committee president, Konduru Ravindar Rao, appealed to the workers to be disciplined and strengthen the party. The members and followers pledged to serve the party, under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, by abiding in its theories, preserving secularism and fighting against fundamentalism and terrorism.
Later, tributes were paid to the victims of Anantapur railway tragedy, expressing condolences to families of the deceased. The leaders observed a 2-minute silence for the victims.
Karimnagar MP, Ponnam Prabhakar, the Congress Whip, Arepally Mohan, town Congress president, Kanna Krishna, including many others was present at the celebrations.
