Tribunal directs the state govt to send the names of six IAS to the Centre for conferred IAS posts.
Hyderabad: The AP High Court on Friday cleared the selection of conferred IAS posts for this year by suspending an order of the Hyderabad bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)?that directed the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) not to finalise the selection till the names of six officers were included.
The Tribunal directed the state government to send the names of six officers to the Centre for conferred IAS posts for this year and directed the UPSC not to finalise selection till the six names were included.
It granted the interim direction on a plea by I. Srinagesh, deputy commissioner, commercial taxes, L. Sridhar Reddy, district panchayat officer, R. Amarendar Kumar, executive director, APTDC, P. Srikrishnaveni of the transport department, D. Srinivasa Nayak and Rajkumar Ohatker, general managers of the AP Industries department.
The government short listed 30 officers from various departments based on their track record. Some officers, who could not make it to the list, however, approached CAT?seeking stay of further proceedings.
As many as 14 officers who figured in the shortlist approached the HC?challenging the CAT order. They said as per the rules, UPSC has to make selection to these posts in the ratio of 1:5 but the tribunal order will compel the UPSC to make selection in the ratio of 1:6, which was illegal.
While dealing with the plea, a division bench comprising R. Subhash Reddy and Justice A. Shankar Narayana asked K.G. Krishna Murthy, additional advocate-general, about the state’s stand.

to District Training College and he was taken charge. Counsel also placed the joining report of the SI.
