Anantapur: Higher education minister K. Parthasarathi said Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and MLAs of Seemandhra Congress were making serious efforts to stop the bifurcation of the state at all levels.
He called on the MLAs from other parties in Seemandhra to unite to mount pressure on the United Progressive Alliance government against carving out of Telangana state.
Parthasarathi, was the chief guest at Inspire-2013, the state level science fair at Narpala on Friday.
Talking to newsmen, he said that all possible efforts were being made to rollback the unfair decision.
Referring to the controversy created by YSR Congress party seeking modification in Article 3, the higher education minister Parthasarathi observed, “Article 3 is no way connected with the state division process.”
The minister, while supporting chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for leading Samaikyandhra stir, said he would consider shifting loyalties if the Chief Minister launches a new party.
Reacting to talk that opinions of MLAs would have no validity during discussions in the Assembly, the higher education minister hoped MLAs could express their opinions frankly on state reorganisation bill irrespective of the consequences of state division.
Parthasarathi said that people of both regions will have to face problems if the state is divided. Parthasarathi said TET (teachers eligibility test) would be held in first week of January next year and results would be announced in the last week.
Similarly, teachers recruitment test (DSC) would be held in February. He was accompanied by Primary education minister Sake Sailajanath.
Anantapur collector D.S. Lokesh Kumar and District Education Officer Madhusudhan Rao also participated in the programme.
