Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Jagathy Sreekumar fell from his wheelchair and sustained a head injury at his wife’s house in Kanjirapally on Thursday evening.
Sources said the incident took place at 8.30 p.m. when Jagathy tried to sit on the wheelchair. The attender had helped him to get down from the bed and before Jagathy could sit on the wheelchair, he slipped and his head banged against a table.
He was shifted to a local hospital immediately where he had five stitches on the head. “It’s only a minor injury. He lost balance and his head hit the table requiring three stitches on the head. But he is stable and would be discharged later on Thursday night,’’ said his son-in-law Shaun George from Sulthan Bathery.
He said all family members were there at the hospital and P.C. George was also on his way to Kanjirapally to meet Jagathy. Jagathy has been confined to wheelchair after a car accident in 2012.
