'Bigg Boss 7': Gauhar and I were friends: Andy

VJ Andy had to step out after a midweek eviction.

Considered among the most popular contestants on season seven of the reality show 'Bigg Boss', VJ Andy had to step out after a midweek eviction. This should be the final eviction leading up to the show’s finale.

Speaking to us after his eviction, Andy said, “The reaction has been crazy! People have been posting on social networking sites that they will boycott the show after my eviction. I’m being recognised, people are approaching me on the roads! It’s much more than I expected.”

Apart from the recognition it has brought him, Andy says the BB experience has been a memorable one. “The tasks are something I will always remember. Meeting Madhuri Dixit was a precious moment as I am a huge fan. Salman Khan also supported me and stood up for me. Cooking for the other contestants, interacting with Bigg Boss — everything has been a positive learning curve. In the middle of the journey, I didn’t know where I stood, but towards the end, I realised I can’t be anything but my happy self. I wasn’t bitchy. I would vent my anger for 10 minutes and get back to normal,” he says.

Among the negative moments Andy had on the show was his spat with once-close friend Gauhar Khan and Kushal Tandon. “Gauhar and I were good friends, but once Kushal came into the picture, they became a two-man army. Then misunderstandings arose during two tasks — but that was due to cultural differences and not malice. It was a stupid blunder and I apologised immediately. It was between Gauhar and me, Kushal should not have got involved. Then Kushal re-entered the house and lied that Armaan’s mom has asked Armaan to stay away from me. But Salman exposed the truth. Gauhar is much better after Kushal’s eviction.”

About the contestants he got along well with, Andy says, “I bonded best with Shilpa Agnihotri, Elli Avram and Tanisha Mukherjee. I was good friends with Sangram Singh too, but we had a spat before my elimination.” He adds, “ I miss Heaven (the dog) the most. I know that I can always meet the others but Heaven’s dates are booked for shoots till March so I won’t be able to meet him.”

When quizzed about who he believes will win the show, Andy says, “I think it’s between the girls — either Tanisha or Gauhar will win, but Sangram will give them close competition. Ajaz Khan I don’t feel will win; he is pretty irritating.”

As for his future plans, Andy says, “I can never leave TV, but Bollywood is beckoning. I have a couple of offers. I’m also doing theatre in London and some choreographing assignments.”
