The Christmas carnival held at Hotel Golkonda, Masab Tank, went awry, thanks to the presence of some thorny bushes near the stage which injured many kids.
Excited kids rushed to the stage, to meet cartoon characters like Chhota Bheem, not impeded by the presence of the bushes. But kids or not, the bushes decided to do their job — and the children got cuts and bruises on their hands and legs. The parents were stunned when the management and the organisers gave the kids bandaids and did nothing about removing the plants.
One of the parents and artist Sravanthi Juluri, said, “I remember coming here last year for a birthday party. The same problem of bushes hurting kids was there. I had suggested to the management to remove the bushes. They seem to have done nothing about it.”
Officials from the hotel were not available for comment until late in the night.
