Tamil Nadu home secretary, metro rail chief shifted
Chennai: In a reshuffle of senior bureaucrats in the state government, senior IAS officer Apurva Varma has been transferred and posted as the principal secretary to government, home, prohibition and excise department. He is presently the principal secretary to government, higher education department, a release said.
Dr Niranjan Mardi, holding the post of the home secretary to the government along with prohibition and excise department, was transferred and posted as the principal secretary/commissioner of economics and statistics.
Chennai Metro Rail Ltd MD K. Rajaraman, IAS, also holding the post of the principal secretary to the government, special initiatives department, besides member secretary of the SDAT, wastransferred and posted as the principal secretary/commissioner of coÂmÂÂmercial taxes.
PanÂkaj KuÂmar Bansal, directÂor of the Tamil Nadu HeaÂlÂth SystÂems Project, will be MD of the CheÂnÂnai Metro Rail Ltd.

Chennai: Other senior bureaucrÂats who have been transferred include present commissioner of commÂeÂrcial taxes Dr K. MaÂniÂvasan who will now take charge as the state commissioner for the welfare of differently abled persons and Dr. V. Irai AnÂbul, principal secretary and commissioner of ecÂonomics and statistics, is transferred and posted as director, Anna InstiÂtute of Management and director general of training, the release added.
While V.K. Jeyakodi who is presently state coÂmÂmissioner for welfare of differently abled persons will be appointed as member secretary, SpoÂrts Development AutÂhority of TN, N.S. PalaÂniappan who is presently principal secretary to government, RuÂral DeveÂlopment has been placed in full additional charge of the post of principal secretary to higher education department.
