Hyderabad: Battula Ankana Rao, a senior engineer from Visakapatnam who was abducted by the Bodo militants from Chirang district in Assam on Sunday, is still in their captivity.
Moreover, the abductors are yet to establish contact and make a ransom demand.
B. Seenaiah and Co. manager S. Bhaskar said,“There has been no word from the Bodo militants. It generally takes about two days to get a ransom call. Officials are also working to trace the militants. We have given all the details to the police.”
It is suspected that National Democratic Front of Bodoland faction, which is opposed to peace talks, may have abducted Rao.
