Public hearing on bridges

Chennai: The Chennai cor­por­ation conducted a public hearing on Monday to discuss the feasibility of constructing a bridge to join the two Usman Road flyovers and extending the joined flyover up to the Habibullah Road junction.

However, residents of T. Nagar have dema­nded that the corporation does not acquire any land in constructing the bridge and to design the bridge in such a manner. The civic body has handed over the designing of the bridge to CMD smith- a consultancy firm.

The corporation will also upload the designs of the proposed flyovers in its website (ww­w.chennaicorporation.gov.in) soon.
