Ace music composer Illayaraja was hospitalised in Chennai on Sunday morning after suffering a mild heart attack.
According to sources, the 72-year-old musician was rehearsing for an upcoming concert, due to be staged on December 28 in Malaysia, when he complained of chest pain and discomfort. The rehearsal session was stopped and he was rushed to hospital, where it was learned that he had suffered a heart attack — his first.
We hear that an angiogram has been performed on the composer.
