I had my first kiss in class five:?Sidharth Malhotra

Sidharth Malhotra admits that maintaining meaningful relationships while working in the glamour industry can be tough.

Sidharth Malhotra made his debut with Dharma Productions’ 'Student of the Year' (SOTY), but for his next, 'Hasee Toh Phasee' (HTP), in which he is paired opposite Parineeti Chopra, the young actor is working with a different banner — and admits that he’s feeling the pressure of living up to his first film’s success.

“It is different now, working with Phantom Productions for 'Hasee Toh Phasee'. It is much harder, and I know that I need to be on the sets on time, put in more effort to match up to SOTY’s success,” Sid says.

Talking about how he relates to the story of HTP, Sid says, “When we were in college, we’d try to find out the names of all the girls and then go up to them and greet them. If they smiled, we felt they were ‘hooked.’ My character in HTP is very much that of a regular guy my age. He’s from a middle-class family and hasn’t ‘settled’. He is torn between the ideas of his parents and what he himself wants to do. That confusion forms the crux of the story.”

On a more personal note, Sid admits that maintaining meaningful relationships while working in the glamour industry can be tough. “Working in the filmdom, we get so very busy that we do not get time (to develop meaningful relationships). But when you get a little time to yourself, that’s when you realise how important it is to have some kind of relationship. Not necessarily (a romantic interest), but someone you can share heartfelt things with,” he says.

Ahem, so did he have a special someone in his life? “In Delhi, when I was in the first year of college, I fell in love. I have had my share of relationships even in school but nothing very serious. I had my first kiss when I was in Class V. Now I am busy with work and have no time to think of love,” Sid says.
