Seema water crisis predicted

TD leader foresees agitations rocking region on account of neglect.

Anantapur: The senior Telugu Desam leader, K.E. Krishna Murthy, has said that the party chief, N. Chandrababu Naidu, had given freedom for leaders from all regions to express their opinions in connection with the State division process.

Speaking to media at Kurnool on Saturday, Krishna Murthy made it clear that leaders from different areas and regions in the party were given liberty to express their views in case of division.

Referring to the unilateral decision by the Congress-led UPA Government, the TD leader predicted that Greater Rayalaseema agitation would start within three years, due to various unclear burning problems that exist since decades.

The Rayalaseema districts would suffer serious water crisis soon after the State division, because of the poor allocation of the available sources, he observed.

Krishna Murthy had scathing attack on the YSR Congress president, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, for staying back during the protest at the Parliament, when Seemandhra MPs staged protest shouting slogans against the State division.

The leader alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy has been touring all parts of the country, but did not dare to shout slogans in front of the Congress chief, Sonia Gandhi. “I don’t know whether Jagan Mohan Reddy has Samaikyandhra stand or the Sonia party stand,” he observed and added that YSR Congress was making cheap tricks to gain political mileage instead of their concern towards the people of the region.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam had not taken any decision over the alliance with BJP in the upcoming general elections so far, Krishna Murthy stated.

Krishna Murthy threatened agitation against the Centre for the injustice shown to Rayalaseema region, in all aspects, including water sharing through Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict.
