Thrissur: The Thrissur rural police has launched an investigation into the recovery of an American made pistol fully loaded with six bullets from a police jeep currently being used by the Chavakkad police sub inspector.
According to officials a police commando team had also used the jeep while on duty for Prince Charles' visit to Athirappilly last month.
“The pistol was found lying under the vehicle's rear seat and it was spotted by a police constable. The same vehicle was part of the convoy that followed Prince Charles'', they said.
