BJP Seemandhra Udyama Committee convener Yadlapati Raghunatha Babu on Friday.

Vijayawada: BJP Seemandhra Udyama Committee convener Yadlapati Raghunatha Babu on Friday said that the party would agitate to protect the interests of the Seemandhra region.

Leading a protest of the party’s city unit at the sub-collector’s office here, Babu said neither Telangana nor Andhra would not benefit from the AP State Reorganisation Bill-2013. He said that the Bill, in its present state, is beneficial only for the Telangana region while the Seemandhra region faces the danger of turning into a desert if the state was divided.?

The BJP leader also took exception to the comments of Union minister Jairam Ramesh that the designs of the Polavaram irrigation project would be changed before its execution.

He wondered how the government would change the completed designs after thousands of crores of rupees have been spent. Babu also asked the Union government why it was opposing the inclusion of Bhadrachalam in Andhra even though it was in Andhra region up to 1956. ?He also sought clarity on how Hyderabad would serve as a common capital.
