Thiruvananthapuram: Fed up with the ‘brash’ style of functioning of P.C. George, a big section in Congress has reportedly decided to impose an unofficial boycott on the Government Chief Whip.
Sources said the Congress leaders are particularly angry with George for flagging off Modi sponsored run for unity in Kottayam recently.
Though Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala had categorically expressed their displeasure of George’s participation in the programme, the Kerala Congress supremo instead of admonishing the Government Chief Whip justified him. This provoked Congress leaders with K Muraleedharan coming out in the open against George.
The party’s plan is to simply ignore the presence of George and deprive him of all respect or courtesy due to Government Chief Whip.
After coming under attack on unity run issue, George had mounted a counter attack saying that Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had dinner with Gujarat Ministers. He had justified his participation in unity run saying that he held Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in high esteem.
