Promoting yoga, health
Having motivated the world-wide audience with her user-friendly approach to yoga, meditation, exercise awareness, nutrition and every day well-being over several years, 30 something Tara Stiles, the global yoga ambassador for Reebok India, has now founded Strala Yoga, a brand for holistic applications of yoga in day-to-day lives.
“In a nutshell, Strala is primarily a movement-based system which ignites freedom and is all about finding ease within yourself and your environment," says the New York City resident who was recently on a multi-city tour of India.
She says most of her travels focus on “encouraging more and more people to embrace fitness and yoga as an intrinsic part of their daily health regime."
Author of two best-selling books - Slim Calm Sexy Yoga and Yoga Cures respectively, Tara has in the past also starred in Yoga For, the first instructional online yoga video-series, produced by the house of Ford Models.
“I forged a connect with yoga ever since I was a kid. I remember practising yoga and meditation in the woods. In fact, when I later took up ballet dancing, yoga formed a crucial component of the programme. And before I knew it, I found myself sharing yoga very informally with my friends and family to help them feel better. By that time, I already started imagining it as a cult emerging out of nowhere in a more fluid and free state," she says.
“My greatest reward came when I was working with people like Deepak Chopra, Jane Fonda and Sarah Palin as their personal yoga instructors," she says.
Joining hands with wellness guru Deepak Chopra, Tara plans to create a string of apps and DVDs, among other collaborative projects.
