Vijay distributes financial aid to producers
To mark his completion of 21 years in the Tamil film industry, actor Vijay, who is fondly addressed as 'Ilayathalapathy' by his fans, did something which truly proves his generous nature.
The actor invited five once well known producers who have made films with him when he was up and coming in Tamil cinema, and gave each of them a cheque for Rs 5 lakhs. They were: M. Raja Ram, who did 'Vasantha Vaasal' with him, S. Soundarpandian who made 'Raajavin Paarvayile', director/producer C.V. Rajendhran who gave Vijay the milestone flick, 'Once More', where he was made to share screen space with thespian Sivaji Ganesan, Shantha, wife of the late KRG who produced Minsara Kanna and Balaji Prabhu, son of the late director/producer Bhaskar who did 'Vishnu'.
Speaking at the press gathering, Vijay said, “Many people's effort goes into a movie. The producer who invests money takes care of everyone in the unit from top to bottom with a motherly affection. These were the producers who had a trust in me trust in me and made films during my days of struggle days. When I came to know that some of them were in need of financial assistance, I thought I should do something immediately . If more people come forward with similar actions, I would be happy. Success brings confidence and failure brings experience." Vijay's upcoming flick 'Jilla's producer R.B. Choudhary who has collaborated with the actor on five films, used the dais to launch the audio set, the melodies being composed by Imman, to clear rumours about the film. Choudhary said, “There have been many rumours that 'Jilla' may not get released during Pongal. The audio release was actually planned for today (December 21). By doing it now, I just want to make sure that Jilla will hit the cinema halls as scheduled." Director Neson and Imman were also present on the occasion.
