Man killed for inter-religion love affair in AP

A 22-yr-old man’s throat was slit open in AP for having an affair outside his religion.

Karimnagar: A 22-year-old man’s throat was slit open by unidentified persons for allegedly having an affair with a girl outside his religion. The Singareni employee was killed behind a weekly vegetable market at Jyothynagar in NTPC Colony late on Wednesday night. His body was found on Thursday.

Members of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) staged a dharna demanding action against the killer. The MRPS called for a bandh of Godavarikhani on Friday.

Youth killed with help of friends

The deceased has been identified as Ippa Chakradhar of Bheemunipatnam in NTPC. Sources said he had been in a relationship with a woman for the past year or so. Chakradhar was an employee of Shantikhani in Bellampally of Adilabad district, said Godavarikhani DSP, B. Uday Kumar.

Chakradhar was allegedly murdered with the assistance of two of his friends with whom he had gone outside on Wednesday. Sources said that the woman’s family members took the help of Chakradhar’s friends get him killed.

A case had been registered against Chakradhar a year back for allegedly eloping with the girl as she had been a minor. However, the girl had gone back to him after that in spite of repeated counseling from her parents, said a source, adding that Chakradhar’s murderers had reportedly been taken into custody.

Meanwhile, members of the MRPS staged a dharna in front of the NTPC police station, seeking justice and demanding action against those responsible for the murder. They also demanded compensation for the kin of the deceased.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, a case was registered under Section 302 (homicide) of the IPC and SC Atrocities Act. Investigations have been taken up. The body was sent to Godavarikhani government hospital for autopsy.
