Seemandhra MLAs to fight against Telangana
Hyderabad: Seemandhra MLAs of all parties have at long last come together to oppose bifurcation of the state.
All Seemandhra MLAs of the Congress, YSR Congress and the TD?will submit two-page affidavits to the Speaker and the President opposing the state division and Telangana Bill.
They will file the same affidavits in the SC. This move follows the advice given by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
They will state that the majority in the state is opposed to division and that the Centre has disregarded conventions covering the bifurcation process.
Their contention?is that under Article 3, the Centre can divide a state only after receiving a resolution from the state Assembly, or on the basis of recommendation of a panel set up for that purpose.
