RSP flays LDF’s ‘outdated’ stirs

TP comes out against the forms of agitations that curtailed the people’s freedom of movement.

Thiruvananthapuram: A day ahead of the LDF state leadership meeting to review the anti-solar agitation, RSP general secretary T. J. Chandrachoodan on Wednesday came out against the outdated forms of agitations which curtailed the people’s freedom of movement.

Without naming the LDF's Cliff House siege, he said that it was not necessary for the political parties to halt the people’s movement to make them aware of issues.

He said parties should stay away from these kinds of obsolete modes of agitations which created problems for the people.

He was of the opinion that whatever may be the agitation, it should not result in continuous inconvenience to the people.

His criticism comes close on the heels of CPI state leadership’s disapproval of the manner in which the Cliff House siege was being carried out.

Both the CPI and the RSP leaders are likely to raise the issue at the LDF state leadership meeting here on Thursday.

The LDF constituents are likely to impress upon the CPM regarding a change in the mode of the agitation.

Right from the siege of the secretariat, none of the agitations announced by the LDF had succeeded in making an impact.

There are many in LDF leaders who believe that the current Cliff House siege is a futile exercise.

The LDF sate committee meeting is likely to draw a fresh plan to carry forward the agitation.
