Professor held for lewd texts
Guntur: An assistant professor at the ANU College of Engineering Technology was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a student.
The police arrested K. Krishna Kishore for allegedly sending lewd SMSes to the student, who is pursuing second year of B.Tech.
The professor also asked her come to his house. Vexed with his behaviour, the victim lodged a complaint with the police.
After conducting a primary investigation, the police arrested him. “We produced him in court on Wednesday,” North Zone DSP K. Madhusudhana Rao said.
The victim had earlier complained to ANU vice-chancellor Prof. K. Viyanna Rao, demanding that stern action be taken against the accused and had protested at his chamber along with her parents, following which, the university registrar R.R.L. Kantham had constituted a three-member committee for conducting an inquiry into the incident.
