Pranab Mukherjee to take part in Neelam centenary, no visit to Sri Satya Saibaba Maha Samadhi

Anantapur: President Pranab Mukherji is not scheduled to visit Sri Satya Saibaba Maha Samadhi at Prasanthinilayam though he is scheduled to arrive in a special aircraft at Prasanthinilayam airport in the district, sources said.

The President would directly proceed towards Anantapur district by helicopter to take part in the centenary birth anniversary of former president Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy on December 23.


Official sources said, President Pranab Mukherji would be the chief guest for the concluding session of centenary birth anniversary programme to be held at Sanjeeva Reddy stadium in Anantapur.

The President would arrive on a special aircraft to Prasanthinilayam airport at around 11.20 am on December 23 and directly proceed to Anantapur in a helicopter, sources said.

After taking part in the celebrations at Sanjeeva Reddy stadium, the President would return to Prasanthinilayam and proceed to Hyderabad in a special aircraft.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan would accompany the President.

The police authorities are making elaborate security arrangements at Puttaparthi airport and Sanjeeva Reddy stadium in Anantapur district in the wake of President’s visit.
