Visakhapatnam: Chintapalle police are geared up to arrest nephew of tribal welfare minister P. Balaraju for allegedly sexually exploiting a 25-year-old tribal woman in the last three years after enticing her with the prospect of marriage.
According to police, minister Balaraju’s nephew K Murali, teacher at MPUP School in Vizag Agency fell in love with K Aruna and had sex with the girl promising to marry her.
However, he allegedly refused to marry her after his sexual desire was fulfilled. He reportedly is getting ready to marry another girl.
Irked over being cheated, Aruna lodged a complaint against Murali at Chintapalle police station on December 10 and a case was registered under sections 417, 420, 342 and 312 of IPC.
Speaking to this correspondent, DSP Chintapalle, Ashok Kumar said the victim underwent medical tests at King George Hospital in Vizag and that they were waiting for medical reports.
Kumar said the accused cannot escape from law as he is a government teacher.
“We are waiting for medical reports of the victim and will arrest Murali, if found guilty,” he said. When contacted, DEO in-charge B. Lingeswara Reddy said he was not aware of the incident.
